What security should a church or school have?

Most churches and schools need access control that unlocks doors for services, classes and events and locks them the rest of the time, cameras on entrances, parking and hallways, an intrusion alarm, and a fire alarm system that is inspected and maintained. Turner Security plans and installs these systems for churches, private schools and campuses in Middle Tennessee and the Chattanooga area.

Video intercoms at the main entrance let staff see and speak with visitors before letting them in, and lockdown can be planned into the access system.

What we set up

Welcoming when you're open, secure when you're not

We plan around your schedule, your buildings and the people who use them.

Door schedules

Unlock doors automatically for services, school hours and events, and lock them on time without anyone walking the building.

Video intercom entry

Staff can see and talk with visitors at the front door and buzz them in from the office.

Lockdown planning

Plan how doors can be locked quickly from the access system when you need to secure the building.

Cameras inside and out

Coverage of entrances, hallways, parking lots and play areas, viewable from a phone.

Fire alarm systems

Detection, notification, inspection and service for sanctuaries, classrooms and fellowship halls.

Volunteer and staff access

Give volunteers and staff their own credentials, limited to the rooms and times they need.

Why it matters

Too many keys, too many people

Churches and schools hand keys to staff, volunteers, teachers, coaches and outside groups. Over time nobody knows who still has one.

Access control ties each door to a person and a schedule, so you can welcome people in at the right times and keep the building secure the rest of the week.

  • Doors unlock and lock on schedule
  • See who entered and when
  • Screen visitors at the front door
  • Fire alarms inspected and serviced

Common questions

Questions we hear a lot

How much does a church security system cost?

Cost depends on the number of doors and cameras, whether you add a video intercom, and the condition of any existing fire alarm. We start with a free assessment and give you a written proposal with a clear price.

Can doors unlock automatically for Sunday services?

Yes. Access control schedules can unlock chosen doors for services, classes and events and lock them again on time, with easy one-off changes for special events.

Can we lock down the building quickly?

Access control can be set up so authorized staff can lock doors quickly from the system. We plan how that works for your buildings during the walkthrough, keeping fire code exits in mind.

Can volunteers have their own access?

Yes. Each volunteer or staff member can get a card, fob or phone credential limited to certain doors and times, and you can remove it at any time.

Do you inspect and service fire alarms?

Yes. Turner Security handles commercial fire alarm detection, notification, inspection and service, including reviews of older or inherited systems.

Do you work with private schools and campuses?

Yes. We work with churches, private schools and campuses in Middle Tennessee and the Chattanooga area, and plan each system around how the buildings are actually used.
